
The Independent Hose Company is always looking for new members to join our team. We are the most active station in Frederick County, providing Fire and EMS services to the citizens we serve.
Membership Types:
OPERATIONAL: This category of membership is for any person eighteen (18) years and older who desire to respond to emergency calls and pursue free training as a Firefighter and/or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Operational members also serve IHC by participating in fundraisers and other company functions. Operational members must pass a physical exam (frequency based on age), meet in-station activity requirements, and keep current with annual compliance training to remain qualified for Operational membership.
ADMINISTRATIVE: This category of membership is for any person eighteen (18) years and older who wishes to be a part of IHC but does not want to respond to emergency calls. Associate members serve the company through participation in administrative duties, serving on committees, and participating in company functions and fundraisers. Associate members may serve on the Canteen, the canteen provides food and drinks on extended situations to maintain the health and safety of personnel.
CADET: This category of membership is for any person sixteen (16) and seventeen (17) years of age, with the written consent of their parent or legal guardian, who wishes to be either an Operational or Associate member. These Cadet members IHC by participating in training, fundraising, and other company functions.
